Believe It Or Not, It’s Christmastime

Yep.  Christmas is rolling around in about, oh, say seven days.  I can’t believe it either.  It’s incredibly ridiculous how fast this year has gone by if you ask me.  But my opinion doesn’t really matter.

I just wanted to let you know that I will be taking a break from this blog until after the first of the year.  I will be reposting some of my favorite posts from this past year Monday, Wednesday and Friday like I have for the past several months.  I will still be posting fresh content on Run With The Big Girls every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so definitely feel free to check that out.  This will be a chance for all of our new friends here at The Esau Project to read some of my favorites.

So have no fear.  I will be back starting January 2 with brand new posts.  So don’t give up on me!

But for now I want to leave you with some Christmas thoughts.

  • Christmastime is a time people associate with family.  Enjoy them.  Love on them.  Don’t take them for granted.  You never know when it will be your last few moments with them.
  • People say Christmas is a time for giving.  I say forget that.  Instead I think the times for giving are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Don’t let the time of year dictate your giving spirit.  Give generously.  Always.
  • I’ve heard that Christmas is a time for loving.  See above.  Love always.
  • And Christmas is a time to remember that Jesus was born to save us from an eternity in hell.  I think that that is something we should always be thinking of and always be thankful for.

Please don’t think that I’m bad-mouthing the spirit of Christmas.  I’m not.  I’m so very thankful for a few extra days off to spend with my family and friends.  I’m thankful for the festive spirits.  I’m thankful for the annual reminder of this incredible miracle of the birth of my Savior.  I just don’t want us to wait until Christmas to remember these things.

People are hurting all over the world.

Every day.

Christ came to save us.

That never changes.

There is never an excuse not to love and not to give.

So give freely.

And love freely.

Live every moment to its fullest.

And never forget that above all else you are loved by the Creator.

There is no greater love.
